Amsterdam based social discovery site 20blinks.com announced the launch of a mobile application that allows users to upload photos directly from their phones to their 20blinks feed. The site, who launched last year, is similar to Pinterests layout, but has a very different  user base. Described by an article in Forbes as, “…it’s got a different community – it’s much more geared towards artists and trendsetters. So a lot of what’s on the site are things like artwork or art they like.” You are also just as likely to come across a collection of music videos by top international DJ talent, or video vignettes edited by professionals and amateurs alike.

According to Bastiaan Zwaan, 20blinks founder, “We’ve all had the awesome experience of stumbling across something ultra-cool or finding something truly inspirational in the most unexpected place, but until now, there’s never been an easy way to capture and share it that very moment.”  Zwaan says the site is ideal for anyone with a creative slant – artists, musicians, videographers, producers, etc. – but also perfect for those who just  wants to express themselves and share the latest finds with others of similar lifestyles, interests and hobbies.

20 Blinks Mobile App

The app is available now for the iOS with Android version coming shortly. It basically turns your native camera into a “blink it” button, letting you upload your finds automatically and directly to your collections on 20blinks.

For the artists and musicians out there, this platform and app is definitely worth a look, especially if you are interested in helping people discover your music online, this is but another outlet that lets you do this. And for people looking to discover new music online, this is also a great platform for that, with no shortage of talented DJ’s, musicians and artists to explore the work of.
