SugarCRM Adds Business Process Management Module

SugarCRM announced early Tuesday, integration with Colosa, Inc.’s open-source business process management (BPM) and Workflow suite, ProcessMaker. The new product, ProcessMaker SugarCRM Edition, is a new module that allows enterprise customers full access to standard BPM tools designed to optimize workflows within the SugarCRM environment. The announcement was made just before the kickoff of SugarCon, SugarCRM’s 7th annual customer and developer’s conference in New York this week.

The integration now allows users to manipulate the way SugarCRM operates, using powerful new BPM tools to graphically view processes and assign values that determine how long particular tasks should take, along with what order each SugarCRM screen displays to users in the interface. The new tools also allow uses to get a better visual representation, and more powerful ways to optimize workflows directly from the SugarCRM interface.

“For years we have listened to Sugar users and partners who have told us that they would like to have a more powerful visual workflow designer and engine available inside SugarCRM, said Brian Reale, CEO of Colosa. “This is not just a loosely coupled web services integration, this is a native module that loads inside SugarCRM and adds all the power of true BPM technology to the world’s fastest growing CRM platform.”

SugarCRM serves over 1 million end-users in 192 different countries, and SugarCon, where this announcement was made, brings customers and developers together for a week of new product announcements, integrations, and this year a look at Sugar 7, the next generation for the CRM platform. New mobile solutions were also unveiled this past week.
